Historical Summary:

Winikin was designed by Louis A. Hascall and built by the Frank Tregoning Boat Company , Ballard, Washingtion in 1932. She was bought by her tenth owner, boatbuilder and restorer Sam Johnson in 2005 and now has only minor cosmetic work to be completed to be fully restored.

Louis Hascall was best known for designing and building US Forest Service boats for use in Alaska. This bridgedeck motor cruiser is the only yacht known to have been designed by Hascall and one of only two yachts known to have been built by him (the other is Suellen, a 1938 Monk design.)

Winikin is a stout built yacht and a credit to her designer and builder. The artful craftsmanship of the house and cabin structures grace her hull with a comfortable balance of scale and brightwork. The cabin hatchways and barrel vault roof are like hidden surprises on the inside.
