ARIES II was originally built for Irving Tushinsky, an executive at SONY in Los Angeles, shipped by water from New Jersey and christened EL GRANDE II. The name was changed in 1976 when the boat was sold and moved to Seattle, where she stayed with two different owners until 2006 when she was sold to James Gartland and was moved to Vancouver, BC. In 2016 she was sold to Eric & Lisa Stangl and moved to San Francisco. In 2019 she was sold to her current owner, Bill Adams.
