Adventure

Historical Summary:

Many of the Grandy’s have something unique about them and Adventure is no different. In the 1960’s the boat was used by Don McCune, "Captain Puget", in the Seattle travel TV Show ”Expedition Norwest”. (For more about Don McCune, see http://www.historylink.org/File/3468)

Adventure is currently powered by a Chevrolet 307 cid V-8,225 hp. gasoline engine with a Velvet Drive transmission and cruises at 7 knots pushed along by a five bladed Coolidge 20” X 15.5” prop. In 1996, she was refastened below the waterline and in 2001 the engine and transmission were re-built.

Her exterior has remained unchanged outside of the addition of a bow rail, while the interior was extensively remodeled in the 80’s. The V-berths and fwd. cabin are original as is the head. A set of bunks was located on the starboard side just aft of the v-berth and the galley was in the main saloon. Mr. Haigh (previous owner) removed the bunks and put the stove and sink in their place. The original galley became additional space in the saloon. The style and quality of the materials and workmanship remained consistent with the remainder of the boat.

The current accommodations are as follows: Bow to Stern, V-Berths, galley stb side, head to port, up 2 steps to saloon, couch and chairs with helm on pt. side, cockpit aft of saloon.
