Historical Summary:
"Allison E" was the last boat that delivered by Stevens Brothers before World War II. No sisters, she is the only one built to this exact design in the world.
Originally designed for twin straight 8's (royals? Or ace?) was expected to do 25 knots (and burn 3 gallons per mile per engine). Original owner opted for 6 cyl. Crowns instead.
Comments:
Update 12-12-22: Career obligation kept me away at work May to November since 2018. ALLISON E maintenance is behind schedule. I have returned to resume restoration projects including plumbing and electrical on the completely machine shop rebuilt port engine which is mounted and aligned. Finish rewiring the dashboard. New engine compartment lighting. Boat scheduled for haul out 1-3-2023 for fresh bottom paint and topside striped to bare wood for fairing, new caulking, primer, and re-paint. Several minor wood repairs interior and exterior. It is my hope that a pending career opportunity will allow the boat to be moved back to the Delta. -Dan Payne, San Diego
