Historical Summary:
Launched June 24th 1941. The last pre war Stephen’s Bros. Hull #661, built for Stockton area cattle rancher Mr. Rodden and named after their ranch/brand CIRCLE BAR R. I purchased in 2001. Moved from Bethel Island boatyard to San Diego Mission Bay, current location since. I ran a highly successful high end “booze cruise” biz. for one season on Mission Bay. Mechanical issues interrupted business. Since, ongoing restoration continues including total machine shop rebuild of port engine with new electrical and cooling system. Same for starboard engine in progress. Ongoing interior and exterior brightwork refinish. Some original from 1941 remains to be refinished. Boat is almost completely original. Modern engine room fire suppression system, vacuflush head, AC cold plate refrigeration added to original over and under icebox. Various family heirloom antiques including U.S.Navy WWI (USS MANCHESTER) and Vietnam (USS NEW JERSEY) Chelsea Clock Co. chronometers, and other U.S. Navy (from USS DECATUR) and USCG historic artifacts.
