The boat currently known as B.O.B. is a 1960 Chris -Craft Roamer Express 6 Hull number ROX-35-314. She was imported into Canada on January 18,1961 by F. S. Crate and Sons of Keswick, Ontario.  The yacht's history here is thin--  most of its life in The Lake of the Woods area of Ontario.

She was repowered in the early 1970s when the originial Lincoln 430 cid engines were replaced with 360 Chrysler marine engines. These were rebuilt in the late 1980s. In the early 1990s the boat was shrink wrapped and stored at  Northern Harbour Marina on Lake of the Woods.  It was abandoned there for 7 years, seized for lack of storage  payments, and sold to Wolfgang Delfing, who after acquiring the boat had it transported to Marine Service and Repair in Creston, BC where restoration work was started.

The 360 engines, although extremely low hours since rebuilding, were seized and replaced with two new Model 350 454cid Crusader  engines complete with heat exchanges as well as Model 72 Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmissions. With the new power plant, new shafts and props were installed: 4 blade 19x20Hi-Torque Manganese Bronze.

A 5KW Honda generator c/w wet exhaust and remote controls was fit to meet the increased 110VAC power needs of the boat.  Also a trailer was custom built at that time to store the boat in the winter season. The boat was tarped and stored on an acreage outside of Lumby BC  for several years (abandoned).

The boat came to my attention through friends at Absolute Classic Marine in Kelowna. An on-going divorce was motivating the seller so we went and had a look. The boat again was suffering from neglect and exposure to the elements but we saw potential. We purchased her in late 2010 and had her moved to Competion Marine in Salmon Arm where she spent the winter season getting cleaned and repaired to run. The engines had been fogged so it didn't take much work to get them running.  The deck and cabin exterior were in need of a repaint, all the windows leaked and the galley still had an ice box and a Betty Crocker two burner hot plate.  So the galley was replaced along with the cabinetry in the head.

So the routine over the next few years was to summer on the water and repair and update all winter.  In the fall of 2015 we took B.O.B. to Sea Sonic Boats in Oyama, BC to have the wood work repaired, replaced where necessary and completely refinished throughout.  A long slow process but upon completion in spring of 2018 we had B.O.B. transported to Victoria to have her upgraded mechanically and electronically and prepared for the salt water experience. This was preformed by Bayview Yachts Service and B.O.B. was  launched into the Pacific Ocean for the first time June 6, 2018.

Since then work has continued with constant upgrades and maintenance.
