Description: The artistry and craftmanship of Ed Monk Sr. are fully expressed in CURLEW, our classic wooden 32 ft raised-deck cruiser. Built in 1956 at Lake Washington Boat Yard she provides comfort to her crew and traditional beauty to all who see her. Monk’s design talents have provided a warm and satisfying home for many years of cruising in Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands.  Restoration in 2005 brought new electrical systems, fuel tanks, fresh water tanks, and hull upgrades on planking, frames and fasteners. Engine, transmission and exhaust were rebuilt in 2018. Propeller, shaft and prop were renewed in 2019, including a dripless stuffing box. She has been moored continuously under cover in La Conner, WA.

Propulsion: 350 Chevrolet Vortec. V-8, 285 hours on complete rebuild in 2018.

Length: 32 ft. Beam 9ft 6in, draft 2.5ft.

Accommodations: Forward V-berth double. Galley settee seats convert to double with pull out bunk in wheelhouse. Upholstery rugs and curtains renewed to match. Enclosed head. Galley with fridge and two burner butane, stainless steel counter and sink. Dickinson propane cabin heater with fan. Overhead and V-berth lighting.

Capacity: 2x40 gal fuel tanks, 2x20 gal fresh water tanks, and 20 gal holding tank all renewed 2005.

Details: Full size Claw and Danforth anchors with galv. chain 15 ft and 200 ft nylon rode plus spare lines. VHF. Depth finder, WestMarine dingy with davit. Generous cockpit and swimdeck.

After many years of cruising in CURLEW we hope to find a new steward who will have the enjoyment of piloting this classic boat into the future.
