Owner Update, from FB:
De Anza III is more than a yacht — she's a stunning example of mid-century modern styling and maritime craftsmanship. Built by the Western Craft boatyard in North Vancouver, Canada, and launched in 1958, this 65-foot flush-deck motor yacht embodies timeless elegance and design. However, De Anza III now requires significantly more restoration work, with repairs estimated to cost between $200,000 and $300,000 — funds I can no longer afford to provide. She needs a dedicated owner who loves vintage wooden boats and can make the investment required to bring her back to her full glory. To qualify for insurance, you must have the funds required to repair her. And you will need to have significant wood boat experience.Key repairs required:These needs were identified during a recent survey conducted by marine experts on behalf of potential new owners. Unfortunately, the scope of the work led them to step back.Over my nine years of ownership, I’ve invested approximately $400,000 in repairs and restoration to maintain De Anza III.De Anza III deserves more than a tragic end as salvage. She’s a remarkable vessel that, despite her current needs, is in far too good of condition to be scrapped. She needs someone who appreciates her history, craftsmanship, and potential. If you’re that person — or know someone who might be — De Anza III is ready for her second chance. Thanks for your interest,Ted LeonhardtText 206 914 83381/10/25
