Delfin was launched in Norway in 1965 and sailed to Long Beach, CA on her own bottom. She was purchased from the son of the original owner by Bill Rogers in 2000. Her superstructure was removed, all steel < spec cut out and replaced, faired with epoxy, superstructure widened to eliminate port side walkway, painted throughout, re-powered with the Cat, new 20 kw genset installed, and put up for sale as an empty, but now pristine hull. We purchased her in 2003 and over the next 4 years completed the restoration. She is all hydraulic with bow and stern thrusters, ABT stabilizers, and the interior is finished in Jatoba and Paduk. We've put around 30,000 miles on her with multiple trips to Alaska, Hawaii in 2023 and 12 times around Vancouver Island. I have been told that Nordhavn used Delfin's lines to draw their 46' and 62' vessels.

She has one sister ship - Torsk - and one 52' little sister. Originally commissioned by Lido Marine and Peter Varney, who commissioned the first line of production ocean going trawlers that were not "one-offs". Romsdal was the name of the yard where she, and they built variants ranging from 52' to 125'. The hull form chosen was the same used by the yard since the 1860's in the herring fishery.
