El Danato

Historical Summary:

El Danato's keel was laid down in April 1958 and launched in April 1960. First cruise was through the Inside Passage, BC Canada, with stops in Campbell River, Alert Bay, Prince Rupert, Ketchikan, Juneau, Petersburg, Skagway, Sitka, and Glacier Bay. In 1960 there was always dock space, however milk was always frozen in the small stores.

Mr. Dan N. Fiorito & wife Elle, were somewhat pioneers watching out for floating ice along the way. The family included Dan Jr., Tim, and Angela.
Mr. Fiorito passed in December 1985, Dan and Tim Fiorito and families have logged many miles over the last 40 years.

Original power: Cummins twin NHRS-6m 300 hp engines. Capitol clutches Hyd Walters V drives RV-55.
Engines replaced in 2012 with twin Cummins QSL 405 horsepower. ZF 370 V drives W/ trolling valves and 2:1 reduction
12.5 knots 18 GPH cruising speed, top speed 19.6 knots
