First Light was the last wooden boat built by Stephens Brothers of Stockton, CA and was built for Leo Fender of the Fender Guitar Company. (Stephens Hull # M-174.)  We purchased the vessel in 2020 from the Werner Family Trust who had kept the boat in Newport Beach for 20 -25 years. We believe the Larry and Sue Werner purchased the boat from an owner in Sausalito, CA sometime in the mid 1990’s and they won several awards in the Newport Harbor Yacht Club Opening Day Celebrations. After Larry Werner’s death, the boat wasn’t getting used as much and the family decide to sell First Light.
