Historical Summary:
Gypsy was launched 102 years ago in Los Angeles. Designed and built by the Seacraft Corporation for motion picture producer Hal Roach, she was oak framed with fir planking and deck, bulwarks, house, and skylights were all teak. About 80' x 16', power was a single 125 HP Atlas-Imperial gave a 10.5 knot cruising speed with a 3000 mile range on 1700 usg of fuel. Apparently she was destroyed in the Alaskan earthquake of 1964.
