Historical Summary:

Ed Monk designed and built a 46ft pilot house yacht for himself and his family in 1965 called Nika Sia. Due to its great success there were many yachts built to this design and they varied in size from 46 to 53 ft. In 1966 a 50 ft version was built for Bill Hancock (BYC), named ShaRay. After 9 years the yacht was sold to Jack Cewe (RVYC) who kept her until 2010 when Henry and Karen Gerber bought her from Cewe’s estate. The yacht has travelled around Vancouver Island, North to the BC central coast and in the Gulf Islands. Lately she has placed first 3 times in the modern classic category.
