Historical Summary:
Owner's comments, June 2026:
Purchased in November of 2025 from Marvin Arshawsky. Kennet II was in a slip at Fortman Marina in Alameda CA. Marvin & I had been talking about the boat for a year or so before the sale. Marvin completed a long list of haulout work on her to bring her back to cruising shape. Marvin said he purchased the boat sight unseen up in Morrow Bay. She was moored in the bay for 10 years - possibly un-attended. Kennet spent time in San Diego, and along the southern CA coast for a bit. She has Navy history taking officers out to the fleet in WWII - still getting info on that. The Navy installed a very large anchor winch & diesel stove, for offshore stops. Before the Navy, the boat was in Washington/ Vancouver area for years.
I’m joining to get more info.
Since November of 2025 I have:
- Re- wired both 12v & 110v - up to modern spec
- New fresh water pump system - galley
- Cleaned & removed abandoned equipment
- Bilge cleaning
- Some engine fuel system updatea
Off to Berkeley for bottom paint & repairs soon!
