Naida was designed and built in Chicago, IL by  the famous Great Lakes naval architect Henry Grebe.  The boat’s name is derived from the word “Naiad,” which means “water sprite,” whimsical creatures that figured in Greek mythology.  Launched in 1935, she boasts brass throttle controls, 18 inch shift levers, leaded ports in the galley, and classic tuck and roll upholstery.  She is built out of solid oak frames with yellow cedar planking.  The deck laid teak, and cabin house is solid mahogany.  

In 2015 she was repowered with twin 1949 Chrysler Royal M-8 engines.

In 2018 she was sold and moved back to Chicago.

Now owned by an Australian couple.
