Historical Summary:
Following a fire in Tacoma where she was burned almost to the aft deck, Oceanaire 1 was purchased by the current owners as a complete write-off. They towed her back to Vancouver and spent two years restoring her. She has won numerous awards at wood boat shows. She was the last of the wood Grand Banks to be built. Her design was one of the first production yachts designed as a passage maker yacht.
The owners keep two special features on board: Two scale models: one of Oceanaire, which is radio-controlled (twin screw), and the other of our most cherished yacht the “Willobee G” that cruised Indian Arm in 1927-28 with history.
