Historical Summary:
Built in 1942, the Pat Foss served the U.S. Coast Guard in Hawaii is a harbor patrol boat (CG 50055) during WWII. She was purchased by Foss Tug and Barge in 1948, and was barged from Hawaii by Foss to Seattle. She was the personal yacht of Patricia Foss and family until 1998.
50' 1942 Shain/Grandy PAT FOSS is one of the first vessels commissioned by the US Government during WWII to be built on the plans of the Shain Commodore Trimmership, originally drawn up in 1939 by Morris (Mike) Shain. Some 50 patrol boats were contracted to be built on those lines by several yards in the Puget Sound Area, Grandy being one of them
