Designed by H.C. Hanson, 'Pelican' was built by the U.S. government to the highest standards. Launched in 1930 began operating as a Fisheries Patrol Vessel.
The 200hp 6 cylinder Joshua Hendy Iron Works engine is in very good condition. The boat comes with Tons of spare parts including a spare engine.
Current owner purchased from the widow of Walt Masland. He purchased from the US govt at auction 1972. Through its research efforts opened brown shrimp fishery in Gulf of Mexico, served Alaskan lookout stations WWII.
