The Ed Monk Sr. design and Blanchard Boat Company combination really had wooden boat building dialed in during this era in Seattle. Utilizing the finest double-planked Port Orford Cedar she is one of the best Pacific Northwest cruisers around for strength and longevity. Some years back the owner cut a 2" plug out of the bottom for an installation and the wood looked like new and oozed pitch when set in the sun. I personally witnessed a fastener being removed from the bottom for a survey and the silicon bronze screw was perfect.
