Historical Summary:

Built by R. Rustin and launched as "Shirah" in Stamford Hill, London England in 1955.

She was sold to Robert Douglas Roe of Vancouver in 1965 and sold again in 1965 to John Bruce Bushausin also of Vancouver BC.  In 1967 she was sold to Hugh and Aline Porter of Richmond, and then to Finn Karlo Petersen of West Vancouver in 1968. In 1970 she was sold to Tomas Dare Jones of Port Alberni. In 1982 she was sold to John and Joan Jameson of Chemainus BC., and then to Adrian Raeside in 1987. Then in 1993, she was sold to Anthony Webb, who is now 98 years old. (2017)

Her original name is Shirah, but she has also been named as "Friendship" in 1965, and as "Amitie" in 1971.

THE DESIGNER
The design of Shirah is attributed to John Bain, the famous yacht designer best known perhaps for his time at the Silvers Yard at Roseneath where he worked for over fifty years designing elegant and seaworthy yachts.
