Historical Summary:
Found on the hard in the Port Townsend boatyard during the annual Wooden Boatshow in 2009, it fortunately had a good custodian for the 21 years previous. The smooth riding Monk hull had a blank canvas in the interior with no steering station and a makeshift galley in the bright main salon that fortunately included a beautiful 1940’s Magic Chef 3 burner propane stove with oven. The floating cottage has now had almost every surface addressed and glows with contrasting light paint, satin varnish on mahogany, and old growth fir countertops with a hammered copper vessel sink. The “locomotive’s” distinctive hardtop over the rear cockpit makes this the prime spot to enjoy our beautiful local surroundings sliding by while under way, the morning coffee to wake up to, and the glass of wine in the evening to wrap up another day on the water.
