Historical Summary:
Passagemaker Magazine:
Vaquero is a 62-foot custom trawler built by the Mauricio and Sons yard in San Diego, CA in 1968.
The Vaquero’s construction and design was modeled after the famed Lindwall Boat Works yachts out of Santa Barbara. Vaquero is also entirely monel fastened (properly maintained, her hull will last forever). Interesting fact: although she looks like a DeFever, she isn’t.
Vaquero has recently undergone an extensive refit; systems and cosmetics (inside and out) and as you can see is just beautiful. The refit kept her original lines but added a flare of modern taste (her traditional mast, boom and rigging are gone and they’ve been replaced with a more modern mast with the integrated stack).
