Vera Lee II

Historical Summary:

34 foot 1939 Cruisette built by the Elco Works at Bayonne, NJ and designed by Glenville S. Tremaine. Amazingly this is only a two owner boat and has remained in the same family. Her first owner was Larry McDowell Sr., later to be CYA charter member no. 6, literally bought this Elco off the show floor in Los Angeles on 30 May 1940. Larry's daughter, Helen, was raised on the boat and inherited it when her father passed away. She and her husband Bob Windham faithfully restored the boat. In 2014 Carol Williams purchased the yacht and continues her meticulous maintenance. (See the article from the SC Fleet newsletter, attached.) Vera Lee II is moored at the Long Beach Yacht Club in the Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, CA.
