50' 1939 Ed Monk Sr. designed, Ed White built at Lake Washington Boat Works in Renton, Washington, WAHOMA has a 13'6" beam and was built for the Forestry Professor at the UW, Ed Umpleby. During WWII she was a Columbia Bar Patrol Boat with 50 caliber machine guns mounted on the bow. Monty Holmes was her caretaker for 50+ years (starting in 1949) and even now still keeps his eye on her.

Three small passes known by locals as "Sometimes, Never and Always" provide the unprepared with a choice that has most "going around" Secret Island to the "Ganges Side" entrance instead.
