Historical Summary:
Wizbee was originally built in 1959 by Bunker and Ellis in Southwest Harbor, ME for the Scheiflen family of Seal Harbor, ME as Clio II. The Scheiflens owned her until about 1990 when she was donated to the Maine Maritime Academy. Geoffrey and Nancy Dougherty, of Mantaloking, NJ and Philadelphia purchased her from Maine Maritime and kept her at their dock at Mantaloking. She was often at the Bay Head Yacht Club and participated in the Philadelphia Corinthian Yacht Club and New York Yacht Club cruises, under her new name "Cat's Whiskers". We purchased her from the Dougherty family in 2018, and moved her to Mount Desert Island, where she has undergone extensive restoration and has been renamed "Wizbee". A great article written by Art Paine that describes the restoration was published in Maine Boat and Harbor, see link in sidebar.
